Harper J. Dimmerman is the principal and founder of The Law Offices of Harper J. Dimmerman P.C., a boutique Philadelphia-based practice with an emphasis upon Pennsylvania and New Jersey real estate matters. He is also the president and founder of DST Land Transfer, Inc., a land title insurance company handling real estate transactions in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He is a featured columnist in The Legal Intelligencer on real estate matters and has lectured to other attorneys on real estate topics. He has been the subject of a feature by The Legal Intelligencer concerning solo and small firm practitioners. He has offered remarks at the Naturalization Ceremony, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District in 2005, welcoming new United States citizens.

He is a graduate of Vassar College and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature. He earned his Juris Doctorate degree, cum laude, from The University of Miami School of Law (honors include: membership with the Business Law Review; Dean’s List; Recipient of Dean’s Certificate of Achievement in Legal Research & Writing II; and Recipient of Cali Excellence for the Future Award in Legal Research & Writing II). He has also matriculated at Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan and the evening division of Wharton at the University of Pennsylvania.

He has been a guest lecturer at Temple University on real estate matters and has been interviewed by the media, including KYW News Radio (1060 AM) and Comcast (CN8) to discuss the People’s Law School 2006. He has participated on television in the NBC Consumer Rights Panel as well.

He has lectured with the Lorman and Pennsylvania Bar Institutes. He lectured at the Bench Bar Conference 2005 on the topic of “Preliminary Relief” and also organized topics on behalf of the Young Lawyers Division for 2006 for the Conference. Most recently he lectured on residential and commercial real estate topics as part of the Real Estate Institute offering from the Pennsylvania Bar Institute. He has also had the honor of judging at the Beasley School of Law Mock Trial Competitions.

He is dedicated to both his individual and corporate clientele as well as the Philadelphia Bar Association. He is the co-chair of the Solo & Small Firm Committee, a member of the Executive Committee of the Law Practice Management committee, an outgoing member of the cabinet and active Executive Committee member of the Young Lawyers’ Division. He most recently coordinated the Peoples Law School Program, a six-week series of lectures on a variety of practical legal topics for the community. In addition to assisting in the promotion and execution of the Peoples Law School, he lectured on real estate topics in 2006.

He is a member of the Brandeis Law Society and the Mortgage Foreclosure Steering Committee. On the Mortgage Steering Committee, he assisted in championing the passage of a Philadelphia Local Rule intended to enable debtors to more affordably reinstate defaulted mortgages.

He believes strongly in pro bono representation. He has handled work for VIP and has devoted numerous hours to Legal Line, the Philadelphia Bar Association program which provides free legal consultations for members of the community.

He has also written articles for American Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association and Philadelphia Bar Association publications.
